DNA descends on Timișoara Municipal Hospital following suspected competition fraud
Prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate are conducting searches at Timișoara Municipal Emergency Clinic Hospital, according to G4Media, citing MEDIAFAX. The case concerns the possible rigging of a competition organised in April 2026 to fill a junior general medical assistant position at Operating Block I.
DNA is investigating possible offences of using information not intended for public disclosure and abuse of office. The investigation is understood to have begun after prosecutors obtained information about the disclosure of confidential competition data.
According to judicial sources, an unauthorised person is believed to have gained access to information about the competition test and used it to obtain the highest score. The candidate in question is said to have been subsequently hired for the position put out to competition.
Local media report that among those under investigation are the hospital's manager and the head nurse at the Operating Block, whose homes were searched. DNA's actions are also taking place at the administrative headquarters of Timișoara Municipal Hospital.
The operations are being carried out with the support of the Timișoara Special Operations Brigade and the Criminal Investigation Service within the Timiș County Police Inspectorate.
