DNA raids Timișoara Municipal Hospital in competition fraud case
Prosecutors from the National Anti-Corruption Directorate are conducting raids at Timișoara Municipal Emergency Clinical Hospital, reports Jurnalul.ro. The investigation concerns alleged fraudulent conduct in a competition organised in April 2026 for a junior general medical assistant position in Operating Block I.
DNA is investigating offences of using information not intended for public disclosure and abuse of power. According to judicial sources, an unauthorised person allegedly gained access to confidential data relating to the competition and used it to obtain the highest score, subsequently being hired for the advertised position.
Among those targeted are reportedly the hospital manager and the senior assistant at Operating Block, whose residences were also searched, according to local media.
DNA operations are taking place both within the hospital premises and at its office building. Timișoara Municipal Hospital is under the direct authority of the Town Hall, headed by mayor and USR leader Dominic Fritz.
Operations are supported by the Timișoara Special Operations Brigade and the Criminal Investigation Service within Timiș County Police.
