Seven cannabis trafficking suspects detained in Brașov over two days of operations

Prosecutors from DIICOT Brașov detained, on 20 and 21 August, seven people under investigation for trafficking in class-C drugs, according to G4Media. The suspects — six men and one woman — are aged between 15 and 22 years old.

According to the investigators, during the period June–August 2026, members of the group allegedly procured, possessed, brokered and sold cannabis in Brașov municipality. The prices charged allegedly ranged between 500 and 1,500 lei per transaction.

The network operated through mutual support: some members ensured the supply of drugs, whilst others redirected customers towards other participants in the group. Buyers were contacted through a social network, and sales meetings took place in various areas of the city.

Three of the suspects, aged 15, 17 and 19 respectively, were caught in the act whilst selling over 80 grammes of cannabis. According to the investigators, the drugs had been procured from the woman being investigated in the same case.

In the course of the operation, prosecutors seized multiple doses of cannabis prepared for sale. Following four home searches, a further 66 doses were discovered, as well as grinders, self-sealing bags, precision scales and items bearing traces of the substance.

In the case of the 15-year-old minor, the Brașov County Forensic Medicine Service established that he had had discernment at the moment of committing the acts. The prosecutors petitioned the Court for Minors and Family Brașov with a proposal for preventive custody for 30 days against all seven accused.

The operation was carried out together with officers from the Organised Crime Fighting Brigade Brașov, with support from personnel from the Special Operations Service within Brașov County Police Inspectorate.
