Network of 3CMC traffickers dismantled before coastal festival
An operation carried out by investigators from Oltenia has led to the dismantling of a network specialised in the trafficking of banned substances. Three men, aged between 19 and 25, are now in custody, accused of serious offences related to drug distribution.
It all began when law enforcement officers caught one of the suspects, aged 21, as he was travelling by train to a seaside resort. The man had on him a bag containing 3CMC crystals, a substance classified as a highly dangerous drug. The purpose of the journey was clear: to reach a music festival where he intended to find customers among partygoers.
The investigation revealed how the group operated. Two days before the arrest, two of the accomplices had obtained the goods in the central part of the country and sold them to the third man. The agreed price had been 3,500 lei, but the buyer was unable to pay in full, leaving a personal vehicle as security for one month.
After the young man set off towards the south-east with the goods, officers in uniform intercepted him on the train. The next day, two residences were raided, and additional crystals of the same type were found in the vehicle being used as collateral.
Prosecutors specialising in organised crime prosecution sought and obtained from the Dolj court the most severe measure: deprivation of liberty for an indefinite period, until the completion of the investigation. The operation involved forces from several counties, including specialists from Constanța and Alba.
