DIICOT prosecutors in Craiova have detained a 51-year-old man who was in possession of nearly 450 materials of a pornographic nature involving children.

A 51-year-old individual has been detained by the Craiova territorial structure of DIICOT under suspicion of child sexual abuse material. Investigators found on him nearly 450 materials with sexual content featuring children, according to G4Media.ro.
The man reportedly accessed websites containing this type of content from 2020 until June 2026. He downloaded and kept on his personal terminals images and videos of minors in explicit scenes.
During raids, police officers confiscated several data storage devices and other evidence. Digital analysis revealed 446 photograph and video files of a pornographic nature involving minors.
The detention took place on Thursday. The following day, judges at Dolj County Court were asked to issue a preventive arrest warrant for one month. The criminal investigation was conducted together with officers from BCCO Craiova.
