Six detained after Victoria Square violence: agitators infiltrated among farmers
Six men have been detained following violent clashes in Victoria Square, among them alleged agitators infiltrated within the ranks of protesting farmers.

The first coercive measures in the file on Victoria Square violence target six men, some of whom are suspected of having infiltrated among farmers who came to protest in the capital, according to ProTV News. The six are to be presented to magistrates and are accused of contempt, destruction and public incitement.
Investigators started from video evidence, including materials published on social networks. "A 36-year-old man from Bucharest published a message on TikTok through which he incited the public to participate in the demonstration, but in a violent manner. Police officers took note and opened a file for public incitement," declared Diana Călinescu, prosecutor at the Prosecutor's Office attached to Bucharest Tribunal Court.
The identified man is Ciprian Pamfile, member of the "Wolves of Romania" group, known to authorities also for his presence at rallies supporting Călin Georgescu. According to authorities, on Tuesday he engaged in physical confrontation with police forces. An associate of Pamfile's, aged 39, was picked up by police in Bihor county. At the moment of detention, the individual had an illegally held gun on him and had posted a clip on social networks through which he threatened police forces, in reaction to Pamfile's arrest. He will be brought to Bucharest for questioning.
The farmers' protest on Tuesday degenerated in several phases. "Investigations established that 10 gendarmes were injured, some requiring medical care, and several items belonging to the Gendarmerie were damaged," specified prosecutor Călinescu. She mentioned that protesters resorted to "metal pipes, batons, kerbs, bottles, metal railings". In total, 32 people required medical care, but no case necessitated hospitalisation.
Alongside the agitators, during the night five other men aged between 33 and 55 were picked up, originating from Timișoara, Buzău and Bucharest. They are accused of contempt, disturbance of public order and peace, and destruction.
Apart from those detained, dozens of other participants were sanctioned. Alexandru Iacob, representative of the Romanian Gendarmerie, detailed the balance: "47 people were taken to police station headquarters for checks and documentation of facts. 24 sanctions were applied totalling 46,000 lei". A provisional balance also indicates that 41 people were taken to stations and fined.
All images captured by surveillance cameras in Victoria Square are being analysed by prosecutors, who are seeking to establish whether other persons are liable for antisocial acts.
