Constanța Hospital directed patients towards entity of businessman under DIICOT investigation
Over the past two years, the Constanța County Clinical Emergency Hospital has sent 15 patients to the Dumbrava Association. This non-profit organisation was created by businessman Viorel Pașca, who is currently the subject of an investigation by anti-corruption and anti-drug prosecutors for committing the offence of human trafficking. The investigation also targets other members of his family.
The health institution made this clarification in the context of the investigation being conducted by the central unit of the Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism. The situation raises questions regarding the procedures through which public hospitals collaborate with entities founded by individuals under criminal investigation for serious crimes.
