Attempted murder in Focșani: 41-year-old man arrested on remand for 30 days
A 41-year-old man has been arrested on remand following an assault with blunt objects in Focșani, in which two men were attacked by a group of three people.

Google News RO — Crime (ro) reports that on the evening of 20 August, at around 20:40, officers from Focșani Municipal Police were called about an assault that occurred in the locality: two 38-year-old men were allegedly attacked with blunt objects by a group of three people.
Subsequent investigation established that the assailants ranged in age from 38 to 41 years old. Initially, the criminal file was opened for the offence of assault or other violence.
On 25 August, the 41-year-old man was detained for 24 hours. The following day, on 26 August, following the submission of new evidence, the legal characterisation of the act was changed from assault or other violence to attempted murder, and a remand order for 30 days was issued against him.
The investigation is being continued by the competent prosecutor's office, with a view to establishing with precision all the circumstances in which the act was committed. The persons under investigation benefit from the presumption of innocence and all the rights and procedural guarantees provided by law.
