Drug trafficking in Bacău: two detained with 1.5 kg of cannabis and cocaine
Two people have been detained for cannabis and cocaine trafficking in Bacău County. Searches in Bucharest and Hemeiuș led to the seizure of over 1.5 kg of drugs.

Two suspects detained after importing cannabis from England and selling drugs in Bacău
Two people have been detained by police on suspicion of trafficking in high-risk and very high-risk drugs, announced Friday by the Bacău County Police Inspectorate (IPJ), according to agerpres.ro.
According to the criminal investigation records, in the period March–May 2026, one of the suspects allegedly procured, possessed and commercialised various quantities of cannabis in Bacău County. The same individual allegedly purchased cannabis from England and brought it into the country via a parcel, approximately 125 grammes of cannabis, and subsequently procured prohibited substances from Bucharest municipality from the second suspect being investigated in the case.
Caught red-handed with cannabis doses in a vehicle
On Thursday, the suspect from Bacău was caught red-handed whilst transporting several doses of cannabis intended for sale in his vehicle. The investigators carried out three house searches — in Bucharest municipality and in the locality of Hemeiuș — where they discovered approximately 1.5 kilograms of cannabis, 40 grammes of cocaine, over 140 tablets in the benzodiazepine category and 33 grammes of powdered substance undergoing examination.
At the scene, grinders, precision scales, a vacuum-packing apparatus and various sums of money were also found.
Proposal for preventive arrest at Bacău Court
The two suspects have been detained for 24 hours and are to be presented to Bacău Court with a proposal for preventive arrest.
The operation benefited from the support of police officers from the Organised Crime Combating Brigade Bucharest, the Bacău County Police Inspectorate and gendarmes.
