Drug trafficking in Oradea: two men arrested, 100 grams of cocaine seized

DIICOT and BCCO Oradea have detained two men under investigation for cocaine and cannabis trafficking, with one arrested in flagrante delicto with 10 grams. Bihor Tribunal has ordered pre-trial detention for one of the suspects.

According to gds.ro, officers from the Oradea Organised Crime Fighting Brigade and prosecutors from DIICOT – Oradea Territorial Service have documented the criminal activity of two persons suspected of trafficking in high-risk and very high-risk drugs in Oradea municipality during April–May 2026.

Among those targeted is an Italian citizen. Investigators claim that a 49-year-old man procured, possessed, and sold quantities of cannabis and cocaine to consumers in Oradea over several months.

On 2 June, a second suspect, aged 47, was arrested in flagrante delicto whilst allegedly selling 10 grams of cocaine. Immediately following the intervention, police discovered in his vehicle an additional quantity of cocaine prepared for sale.

Following home searches conducted during the investigation, approximately 100 grams of cocaine, a quantity of cannabis, and other evidence were seized. The substances are to be subject to specialist expert examination.

DIICOT prosecutors in Oradea have ordered the detention of both persons. The judge for rights and freedoms from Bihor Tribunal decided on the pre-trial arrest of the 47-year-old man, whilst the 49-year-old suspect was placed under judicial supervision for a period of 60 days.

The operation was carried out with the support of officers from the Bihor County Gendarmerie Inspectorate. Investigators are continuing their enquiries to establish the full extent of the criminal activity and to identify all persons involved in the distribution network.
