Trafficking in psychoactive substances in Hunedoara: man placed in preventive detention, woman under judicial supervision
An operation conducted by organised crime police from Hunedoara, supported by prosecutors from DIICOT, has led to the dismantling of a network involved in the distribution of high-risk drugs. The two members, a man and a woman, are suspected of having sold prohibited substances across the county, according to reports from Replica HD.
According to investigators, in May of this year, the two acquired, stored and distributed quantities of plant material treated with synthetic compounds, namely MDMB BUTINACA and 5Fluoro-ADB. The selling price ranged between 150 and 300 lei per transaction.
On 9 June 2026, law enforcement officers conducted raids at two addresses in the county. During the searches, they seized bags and containers with plant and crystalline substances, hand-rolled cigarettes, a precision scale and other objects bearing traces of the prohibited substance. All items were seized as evidence for the continuation of the investigation.
The two suspects were detained on the same day. Subsequently, on 10 June, the judges of Hunedoara District Court accepted the prosecutors' proposal and ordered the preventive detention of the man. The woman was placed under judicial supervision for 60 days.
The operation was also supported by Hunedoara gendarmes. DIICOT states that the persons being investigated enjoy the presumption of innocence and all procedural rights.
