An individual aged 35 was apprehended by law enforcement whilst in possession of a substantial quantity of prohibited substances. Approximately 31 kilograms of cannabis and half a kilogram of cocaine were found on him.

According to Ziarul Prahova, the operation was conducted by police specialising in combating organised crime, with the assistance of colleagues from Teleorman and Olt, under the coordination of prosecutors from DIICOT – Territorial Service Ploiești.

The man was apprehended in the municipality of Turnu Măgurele, Teleorman County, on 13 June, whilst transporting the drugs. The investigation revealed that the suspect had allegedly procured the narcotics from outside the country's borders, with the intention of selling them on Romanian territory.

On the same day, investigators raided his home, where they seized various objects that had allegedly been used in criminal activity. Initially, prosecutors ordered his detention for 24 hours, and subsequently a judge of rights and freedoms at Prahova Court issued a remand arrest warrant for a period of 30 days.

The investigation continues in order to document all trafficking activity and identify any possible accomplices or the network to which the suspect belonged.
