Three detained in Onești after assault on young man and violence filmed on TikTok
Two men assaulted a 21-year-old youth and held him in a residential property while a woman filmed the violence and posted it on TikTok. All three were detained for 24 hours.
Assault filmed and posted on TikTok: three people detained in Coțofănești commune
According to G4Media, police officers from Onești Rural Police Section 10 and those from Onești Municipality Police executed three home search warrants on 19 August in Coțofănești commune, Bacău county, the action carried out under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office attached to Onești Court.
The targets were two men, aged 21 and 28, suspected of physically assaulting a 21-year-old youth at their own residence. "The persons in question allegedly locked the door to prevent the youth from leaving the building, addressing threats to him," representatives of Bacău IPJ specified.
A third person investigated is a 22-year-old young woman, who allegedly recorded audio-video of the assault and supported the two men in committing the acts. The recording was subsequently distributed on social media, including on TikTok.
Following the searches, evidence was seized for the continuation of investigations. Retention for 24 hours was ordered against all three persons, who were admitted to the Bacău IPJ Detention and Preventive Arrest Centre.
Gendarmes from the Bacău Mobile Gendarmerie Group also participated in the action. The criminal file concerns the offences of assault or other violence, deprivation of liberty, threats and violation of privacy.
