Police have now identified 129 individuals who are banned from their areas. This includes everything from foot soldiers to gang leaders. The men are no longer permitted to be in places ranging from affluent Lidingö to deprived areas of Södertälje.
According to the authorities, the groups take control of residential areas and intimidate residents. The activity includes extortion and threats directed at children. Some members are reported to impersonate police officers, and there is contact with twelve-year-olds.
