Shortly after midnight on New Year's Day, an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old young man opened the door to a hotel room in central Uppsala. They had arrived in the city with the intention of committing a murder.
In one of their mobile phones was a note with addresses to several bars in Uppsala's city centre. There was also an address marked as "Hans mamma's home".
The murder plan was revealed after 36 cartridges had been left behind in the hotel room. This led to the police being able to apprehend both men before the act could be completed.
The two young men have now been convicted of preparing for murder. The trial was handled in Uppsala District Court.
