Woman threatened with death and bound during robbery in Huskvarna
An 85-year-old woman was subjected to a serious robbery in Huskvarna where she was tied with cable ties, had her clothes cut, and was threatened with her life over a period of almost three and a half hours. This emerges from the preliminary investigation which SVT.se has had access to.
The robbery is the fourth and most serious in a series of crimes committed against elderly women living alone over three weeks at the end of December and beginning of January. Police launched an intensive hunt in January after four elderly single women fell victim to crimes which, according to police and prosecutors, risked escalating further.
In police interviews, the woman describes how the perpetrators threatened her with what felt like a firearm.
"They talked about a pistol and other things. And what I would get. What they would do to me. He held the pistol, the so-called. I didn't see that it was a pistol. But it was an object that felt like metal. And so he said at one point that. I'll shoot and now you have so many minutes to come up with the code. Then I say, that sounds a bit, a bit silly. Who would give you the code when you've shot me? And that's when he took the pistol away", the woman recounts.
A sharp object was used to cut up her clothes during the robbery.
After the extensive police operation, the suspected men, both in their twenties, were arrested. They are now being prosecuted at Jönköping District Court for two counts of serious robbery, two counts of attempted serious robbery, and attempted serious rape against four elderly women. The men deny all charges.
