Charges brought against two people for threatening action against politicians in Stockholm
A prosecutor has initiated legal proceedings against two people, aged 20 and 25, suspected of illegal threats. This follows a high-profile action at Sergels torg in Stockholm where dolls depicting well-known political figures were placed in ropes, according to Expressen.
The incident took place in spring when an Iranian exile prince visited Sweden. The three dolls depicted KD leader Ebba Busch, SD leader Jimmie Åkesson and Reza Pahlavi, who is the son of the former Shah of Iran.
During the action there was a sign with a message directed against what was called representatives of imperialism. According to TV4, which first reported on the charges, the prosecutor believes the act was directed at one of the politicians because of their role as an elected member of parliament.
The two men now risk being convicted of threats directed at elected officials in a public place in central Stockholm.
