Birgitte Bonessen speaks out after acquittal by Supreme Court
Swedbank's former chief executive Birgitte Bonessen has for the first time commented on the Supreme Court's acquittal judgment from April. In an interview with Danish financial newspaper Børsen, she talks about the time before the trial.
– I began to find out everything I could about what it was like to be in prison, she tells the newspaper.
In April this year, Bonessen was acquitted by the Supreme Court of charges of serious fraud. The charges concerned suspected market manipulation in connection with the bank's handling of money laundering allegations.
The legal case was closely followed in the financial world and attracted significant attention when the former top executive stood accused.
