Six people were taken to hospital after a collision on the E6 motorway in Stenungsund. The driver of one of the vehicles is now in custody on suspicion of drug-driving and serious negligence.

Six people were taken to hospital after a bus collided with a lorry on the E6 motorway in Stenungsund on Monday. Two of the injured were assessed as having serious injuries, while four suffered minor injuries.

The accident occurred in the northbound direction and caused extensive disruption to traffic. According to the rescue service, approximately 20 passengers were on the bus when the collision occurred.

Police took a person into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, causing bodily injury and showing serious negligence in traffic. The arrested person is suspected of drug-driving, aggravated assault causing bodily injury and serious negligence in traffic.

Rescue personnel worked for an extended period at the accident site. Trafikverket issued warnings of very significant traffic disruption in the area during the evening.
