Knife murderer arrested for robbery after conditional release

According to pt.se, a man in Piteå previously convicted of a high-profile knife murder was remanded in custody, now suspected of robbery and facing six years' imprisonment.

In September last year, the man was conditionally released after serving approximately two-thirds of a 15-year prison sentence. During his imprisonment, the Prison and Probation Service recorded hundreds of disciplinary breaches: he manufactured makeshift stabbing weapons and behaved threateningly towards both staff and fellow inmates.

Eight months after his release, police arrested the man on a bus between Piteå and Skellefteå, where he was suspected of drug abuse. During a search, police found a knife in his pocket.
