A fraudster posing as a police officer called a man in Simrishamn and conned him out of money following a conversation lasting several hours.

A man in Simrishamn has fallen victim to telephone fraud in which an unknown person pretended to be a police officer. The fraudster claimed he wanted to help cancel a purchase and then transferred the man to a supposed security department at his bank, according to Ystads Allehanda.
The conversation lasted several hours. When it ended, the man discovered that money was missing from his account.
This is the second time in a short period that someone in the area has impersonated a police officer in order to defraud people of money. The authority warns the public never to disclose personal information or banking details to anyone who calls and claims to be from the police.
