Two women have been sentenced to five years' imprisonment each for their involvement in packaging 57 kilograms of cannabis in an apartment in the Gamlestaden district of Gothenburg. The assignment came from a criminal network, and the person who gave the order remains at large.
The women used the nicknames Princess Fox and Foxina in their communications. A man called Don Fox is said to have given instructions for the work, which was carried out in an apartment rented via Airbnb, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
Prosecutor Johan Udén notes that police and the prosecution authority are increasingly seeing new faces, often young women without previous criminal background, being drawn in as pawns in serious criminality.
The court has now established the sentence at five years' imprisonment for both women for their involvement in the drug offence. The man behind the operation has not yet been arrested by police.
The case is an example of how the notorious Foxtrot network has established itself in Western Sweden and recruits people to various tasks within its operations.
