A five-year-old girl injured by a knife in a playground in Helsingborg has left hospital. A boy under 15 years old is suspected of attempted murder.

The five-year-old girl injured by a knife in Furuturpsparken in Helsingborg on Monday is no longer hospitalised, the Public Prosecution Authority has announced. The information is reported by Svenska Dagbladet.
The assault took place in a playground in the city. According to witness accounts, a sharp weapon was used in the attack. A boy who has not yet turned 15 is suspected of attempting to kill the girl.
Police took the young boy into custody but released him subsequently as he lacks criminal responsibility due to his age. Nevertheless, he has now been interviewed by investigators.
Prosecutor Gustav Friman is leading the preliminary investigation. He is unwilling to comment on the suspect's position regarding the charge.
"At the moment extensive work is underway to understand what took place at the scene and what motives may have existed," Friman said in a statement.
As the alleged perpetrator is too young to be punished, the court is expected instead to determine the question of guilt through a statement of claim. This means that the court will consider whether a crime has been committed without any sentence being imposed.
