A person was arrested on Sunday evening after the police operation squad conducted an operation at an address in Falkenberg municipality, according to SVT Nyheter. The arrested person is suspected of a serious offence against the law on explosive and inflammable goods.
The operation was reinforced with a police helicopter and dog patrol, according to Hallands Nyheter, which was first to report on the incident.
Police confirm that the operation is directly linked to a suspected dangerous item that was found in Norrköping the same evening. The National Bomb Protection service was called to the scene. The item was assessed as live, but police state that the public was not exposed to danger.
– We have assessed it as such, and handled it as such, says Olle Älveroth, police spokesperson in the East region. He does not wish to disclose information about what the item might have been.
