The emergency call came in shortly after 11 o'clock and concerned a person believed to have suffered cardiac arrest. When ambulance staff arrived at the home, they alerted police.
According to Otto Eriksson, the police's press spokesperson, a preliminary investigation into murder has been initiated. The man arrested at the scene is suspected of causing death.
Police have not yet been able to establish exactly what occurred and do not rule out that a crime lies behind the death.
The next of kin have been informed of the incident, according to local news media.
