A man has died and another injured following a brawl at the Hawaii bathing area in Stenungsund during the night into Thursday. This is reported by Göteborgs-Posten.
Two young men in their 20s are arrested, suspected of murder and attempted murder, according to prosecutor Johan Fröjelin.
Several people are said to have been involved in the brawl. The two injured men made their own way to hospital without an ambulance, both with injuries from a sharp object.
– They arrive at the hospital around 01:00, that is when we become aware of this, says police spokesperson Jens Andersson.
Shortly after ten o'clock on Thursday morning, police announced that one of the men had died and that his relatives had been notified. The condition of the other man is reported not to be life-threatening.
Police are now investigating one case of murder and one case of attempted murder. Witness interviews have been conducted and a technical examination of the scene has been carried out.
– There is some conflict at the root of this, but exactly what it concerns I cannot comment on, says Jens Andersson.
Two German campers in the area told GP that police cordoned off a large area, from the car park down to the beach, when they arrived at 03:00.
– The police stayed all night. We were interviewed about whether we had heard anything, amongst other things whether we had heard any screams, says one of them to the newspaper.
During Thursday morning, it was quiet at the bathing area.
