A 20-year-old man from Skene has been sentenced to prison after robbing and threatening several people in the area. Drug offences were also included in the sentence.

Borås District Court has sentenced a man in his 20s from Skene to three years and six months' imprisonment. He was convicted of robbery, two attempted robberies, threats against a public official, perversion of the course of justice, and possession and use of narcotics.
The first incident occurred in mid-April at night. A young man was out for an evening walk when a person of similar age on an electric scooter stopped and began questioning him. The questions concerned his finances and employment. The situation escalated rapidly. The attacker produced items that appeared to be weapons – a replica pistol and a knife – and forced the victim to go to a cash machine. There, he was forced to withdraw fifteen thousand kronor. The threats were brutal: if the victim did not obey, he would be shot in the head and cut in the face. After the victim handed over the money, the perpetrator photographed his driving licence and warned him against contacting the authorities.
Ten days later, the perpetrator struck again – twice within half an hour in Skene centre. First he attacked a younger man, then a middle-aged person. In both cases he was masked and dressed in dark clothing, travelled on an electric scooter and demanded cash. The victims were threatened with firearms and forced to show their bank accounts. Afterwards they received the same warning: silence or violence.
During the trial, the defendant was unable to take a position on the question of guilt. He claimed that he had no memory of the relevant occasions. However, a police search of his home revealed replica weapons and disguise equipment. Furthermore, investigators found conversations on his mobile phone in which he discussed the first robbery.
