A man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in a park in Malmö late on Wednesday evening.

Shortly after 23:00 on Wednesday, police were called to a park in Malmö. Several people in the vicinity had heard cries for help and contacted the emergency services.
According to Tommy Bengtsson, duty officer at police region South, it was members of the public who alerted authorities after hearing distress calls from the park.
When police patrols arrived, a man was taken in for questioning, suspected of rape. The crime scene was cordoned off for technical investigation. Witnesses were interviewed at the scene and the affected woman was to be transported to hospital for care and examination.
The extent of injuries sustained by the woman in connection with the incident is not yet known.
