According to Google News SE — Crime (sv), police received a call at around 14:00 on Thursday about a serious violent crime indoors in a residential area in the northern part of Söderhamn.
At the scene, a 45-year-old man was found injured. He was taken to hospital but died later as a result of his injuries. Next of kin have been notified. According to reports, the man had been stabbed.
A 50-year-old woman was at the same address. She is reported to have heard screams and gone up to the flat to see what had happened – and then encountered the perpetrator, who injured her. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
– I cannot answer that right now, says Maria Hall, police spokesperson.
A 55-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of murder and assault.
Söderhamn Municipality states that a crisis support group has been activated in connection with the incident. "The crisis support group is on site for those who wish to talk to someone or simply be in a safe environment," the municipality writes.
