Men drove at 224 km/h on 50 km/h road – convicted of killing Sylvester Abayomi
Two young men were convicted in England of killing 50-year-old Sylvester Abayomi following a reckless drive in Manchester. Expressen reports on the sentences.

According to Expressen, Uways Hussain, 20, and Usmon Mahmood, 23, drove at speeds of up to 224 km/h on a road designated for 50 km/h in Manchester on 9 March – a drive that ended with 50-year-old Sylvester Abayomi losing his life.
The men filmed themselves whilst driving, drove through red lights, weaved in and out of traffic and inhaled nitrous oxide from balloons whilst behind the wheel. Abayomi was on his way to work when their car crashed into him at a red light. He died in the collision.
After the crash, the men fled the scene but were arrested shortly afterwards by police.
On Friday, both were convicted of causing death by dangerous driving. Hussain received a sentence of eleven years and eight months. Mahmood was sentenced to twelve years and nine months.
Judge Nicholas Dean stated that the men had demonstrated "a frightening and obvious lack of regard for the safety of other road users".
In court, Abayomi's partner Denise Doyle testified about how, on the morning he died, he kissed her and told her he loved her before leaving home.
"I never knew it would be the last time," Doyle said.
She described him as "kind, devoted and full of life".
Thomas Johnson from the police commented on the incident: "This is one of the most extreme cases of dangerous driving we have encountered and it has tragically resulted in the loss of Sylvester's life. Our thoughts go to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time."
