When police arrived at the holiday home on the island of Sollenkroka in Stockholm's archipelago, a large window was smashed and the doors were standing wide open, according to documents obtained by TV4 Nyheterna.
Omni.se reports that both the veranda door and the cottage door were wide open. The glass from the broken window had been collected in a pile outside the house. Police assessment is that the window was smashed from the inside.
The boyfriend was pointed out as a suspect nine minutes after the woman was found dead. After a 33-hour manhunt, the man was arrested on a nearby island, suspected of murder.
Forensic technicians have not yet found any suspected murder weapon at the crime scene, according to TV4 Nyheterna.
New interrogations have been held with the man in his fifties who is suspected of the murder. According to documents obtained by Aftonbladet, the man is also said to have behaved threateningly towards another woman a few years ago.
The holiday home is located in Värmdö municipality in Stockholm's archipelago.
