Knife attack near secondary schools in Malmö – two arrested for attempted murder

According to svt.se, a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured by a knife at Borgmästaregården in Malmö on 3 October, following a major altercation that broke out at around 3 p.m. A knife was reportedly used, and the boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to Region Skåne.

In the vicinity of the scene of the altercation are two secondary schools. Anders Hjelm, rector of Bladins International School in the area, commented on the incident: "It is certainly unpleasant, especially if it is a young person who has been attacked."

The incident is being investigated as attempted murder. Two teenage boys were arrested following the attack, suspected on probable grounds of attempted murder. One of them has since been released, but another person has been arrested pending a decision on remand proceedings.

The duty prosecutor has been unwilling to comment in detail on what occurred, and has not confirmed whether the arrested individuals are students at the nearby secondary schools.
