Two men have been remanded in custody on probable cause, suspected of murder in Tranemo, after a person was found dead in a flat on Thursday, 21 May. This is reported by svt.se, which cites the prosecutor in the case.
The victim has been identified as a man aged 25–30 with residence in Tranemo, according to an email from prosecutor Hampus Sabel to SVT. The body was initially unidentified when police discovered it during a residential search.
"A person was found in the flat, where two other persons were also arrested by police. It is unclear how the deceased person's injuries arose, which is why murder is suspected," says prosecutor Therese Alexandersson.
Police carried out a major operation in central Tranemo during the night and early morning following the discovery. The flat was cordoned off for forensic examination, and by around 08:00 on Friday, police left the scene.
Prosecutor Sabel states in his email that one of the remanded men has admitted to causing the complainant's death, but claims that it occurred in self-defence. The circumstances surrounding the death are still described as unclear by police.
The prosecutor has otherwise chosen not to provide any further information about what took place in the flat.
