Police arrested wrong woman at work – forced to get in car
Two plainclothes police officers arrived at a workplace in Uppsala in August 2023 to collect a witness for interview. Instead of the correct person, they arrested another woman, reports UNT.
In front of her boss and her colleagues, the woman was made to hand over her mobile telephone and get into an unmarked police car. She allegedly repeatedly asked what the matter concerned, but received no answer. According to the complaint, the officers also told her that her car and flat risked being searched.
Only after approximately a quarter of an hour's drive was it discovered that the police had taken the wrong person.
The woman has now been awarded compensation for what occurred.
