One of Sweden's largest seizures of the super-potent drug nitazene was recently carried out in the Stockholm area. Doctors are now warning of the extreme risks.

Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet reports that one of Sweden's largest seizures of nitazene was recently carried out in the Stockholm area. According to TV4 Nyheterna, it involved 184 grams of powder and close to 25,000 tablets of the super-potent substance – stronger than fentanyl.
"This is the worst thing that can happen on the illegal drug scene, that a substance this potent comes out," says Erik Lindeman, senior physician at the Poisons Information Centre.
Drug expert Kai Knudsen shares the concern. "These are fucking dangerous preparations," he says, emphasising that nitazenes have now entered the Swedish market.
