A sitting member of the Swedish Parliament is the subject of a preliminary investigation concerning a breach of child sexual abuse material legislation. The information has been reported to SVT Nyheter.
The police's specialist unit for special investigations conducted a search warrant at the politician's home. During the operation, several electronic devices are said to have been seized.
"An interview was held with the person, who was subsequently allowed to leave the interview room. The suspicions nevertheless remain," explained prosecutor Lena Körner at the Special Prosecution Authority to SVT.
According to SVT's reporting, the politician in question holds several prominent positions within his party.
