A shooting at a residence in Hässelby villastad in western Stockholm is being investigated as attempted murder. No persons were injured.
Shots fired at residence in Hässelby – major police operation during night
A shooting at a residence in Hässelby villastad in western Stockholm took place on Wednesday evening, reports Aftonbladet. The alarm came in at 23.32 and police immediately launched a major operation that continued well into the night.
People were inside the residence when it was shot at, but no one was injured. Police are investigating the incident as attempted murder and serious weapons offence.
– Someone or several people have shot into a residence. No persons are injured. We are speaking with neighbours and those who live in the residence, says Carina Skagerlind at police regional operations centre.
Even after 02.00, police searched the area for perpetrators. At that time, no one was suspected or in custody.
– It is enough that they are in the residence for the suspicion to become attempted murder, says Skagerlind.
She states that she lacks information about where the residents were exactly in relation to the shots. Police see no connection between the incident in Hässelby and a car chase in Nynäshamn the same night, in which the driver was shot dead.
