A total of 22 people were charged with involvement in an extensive drugs network in Värmland – 21 of them are now sentenced by the district court, according to Aftonbladet. One person who was suspected of money laundering offences is completely acquitted.

According to the court, the network has engaged in systematic and organised drugs sales in the region over an extended period. "The court has determined that the criminality has been both systematic and organised and it can be established that it has had significant consequences for society," says magistrate Urban Nilsson in a press statement.

Among those sentenced, one man receives 12 years in prison for serious drugs offences, offences against the Weapons Act, assault and extortion. Several others in the operation are also sentenced to lengthy prison sentences.
