Ten years' imprisonment for knife assault in Farsta
A man in his 40s has been sentenced to ten years' imprisonment following a serious violent crime in Farsta, south Stockholm. The attack took place on New Year's Eve when the convicted man attacked another man with a knife. The victim was injured in the face and upper body and subsequently fell down a staircase. The injuries were so severe that they were assessed as life-threatening, according to information from Mitti as reported by Aftonbladet.
The court found the man guilty of attempted murder and sentenced him to a lengthy prison term. In addition, he is to pay 300,000 kronor in damages to the injured party.
The trial took place in Stockholm after the prosecutor brought charges for the brutal assault in the suburb.
