Three students at Sigtunaskolan humanistiska läroverk (SSHL) have been arrested on suspicion of a serious crime, according to the Prosecution Authority. The news is reported by Sydsvenskan.

Police launched their operation at the school north of Stockholm at around 15:00 on Thursday. The work continued for several hours before officers left the scene at 20:30. The school takes in both boarding students and students who live outside the school area.

During Thursday evening, police were forthcoming about what had occurred. According to several media outlets, there was never any danger to the public.

The school's management informed guardians by email. In the message, which Expressen among others has seen, the following was stated: "We wish to inform you that we have become aware that serious incidents have occurred at SSHL. The incident has been reported to police and during the evening police have been on site and begun their investigation."
