A 22-year-old and a 35-year-old foreign national have been detained and remanded in custody. Both are suspected of conducting serious unlawful intelligence activity against Swedish interests.

According to legal documents, the men were arrested on Wednesday. The younger person holds Malaysian citizenship, whilst the older was born in China. They have not previously been registered as residents in Sweden.

The alleged criminal activity is said to have continued for one week, from 26 June until their arrest. The activity is said to have taken place in Solna north of Stockholm and at additional locations.

Early on Friday, the prosecutor submitted a request for the men to be remanded in custody. A hearing on the matter will take place later that day.
