In early July, two Swedish men were arrested in Spain, both wanted by Swedish police. The older, a 30-year-old, is suspected among other things of inciting serious weapons offences on two occasions in the Stockholm area and of involving a minor in criminal activity. He is described as having ties to an international criminal network. The other, a man in his twenties, was previously convicted of serious weapons offences in district court in May 2025.

Christer Chernström, who heads the investigation within the Stockholm South police area, emphasises in a press statement that the arrest of the older man is significant and that he has clearly influenced the crime situation in the capital.

The two men are part of a larger group of 165 people who have been arrested abroad so far this year thanks to Swedish international wanted notices. Aftonbladet reported on the case.
