On Saturday evening, a 45-year-old man was subjected to a violent attack in Mölnlycke, Härryda municipality. He was taken to hospital but died later from his injuries.

Police were alerted to the incident and three people were taken into custody overnight on Monday. Of these, two people, both in their 20s, have been remanded in custody. They are reasonably suspected of aggravated assault and gross negligence causing another's death. Neither of the two admits to the offence.

A post-mortem examination of the deceased man has been carried out by the medical examiner.

Prosecutor Fredrik Berglund states that this concerns a crime where the victim and one of the suspects knew each other. It is therefore not a case of a random act of violence, he explains to Aftonbladet.

Witnesses have reported that three people ran from the scene after the attack.
