A 45-year-old man died following a violent attack at a swimming area in Mölnlycke. In the aftermath of the death, two people in their 20s have been remanded in custody.

The prosecutor initially sought that both should be arrested on suspicion of murder. However, the district court decided that the remand should concern grievous bodily harm and gross negligence causing death – a milder offence classification than what the prosecution had requested.

The remanded individuals are resident in Härryda municipality. Both deny having committed any crime. According to their defence counsel, they claim they acted in self-defence.

The police continue their investigation into the death.
