On the courtyards in Biskopsgården, the playgrounds in Frölunda and the parks in Bergsjön they grew up side by side. When their circles of friends went their separate ways, it was still the brothers who stayed together – and the younger ones in the sibling group followed their older brothers' footsteps straight into deadly confrontations between criminal networks.

Community police officer Håkan Bredinge emphasises that kinship is a particularly strong influencing factor.

– It ranks among the heaviest risk factors we see. A younger brother constantly receives impressions from a person he admires, he tells Göteborgs-Posten.
