According to the prosecution, he is suspected of aiding and abetting murder as well as attempted murder. By Thursday at 12.00 hours at the latest, a decision must be made on whether to request remand in custody or whether the man should be released.
The suspected main perpetrator, an 18-year-old, has been in custody since Sunday. He is reported to have stabbed a 17-year-old girl on the previous Friday at the secondary school in Fagersta, north-west of Stockholm, and injured three other pupils aged between 12 and 17 years – two of them seriously. According to media reports, the attacker was himself a pupil at the affected school. His motive remains unclear.
The population in Fagersta is mourning the victims.
