Police officers conducted a search of a residential property near Grosuplja on Wednesday. The property owner had previously discharged ammunition from a firearm on his land.
During the search, investigators discovered two firearms, six magazines, a large quantity of ammunition and a metal knuckleduster. All items found were seized and sent for expert examination.
No one was injured in the incident, according to a statement from Ljubljana Police Directorate.
A pre-criminal investigation has now been initiated against the property owner for the alleged offence of endangering public safety. Police also initiated misdemeanour proceedings for alleged violation of legislation governing the possession of firearms. They are also investigating whether the suspect had the appropriate permission to possess firearms. The competent prosecution authorities will be notified of the results.
