Drugs, cash and steroids: dual police operation in Ljubljana
Police stopped a vehicle in Ljubljana city centre last weekend with a 20-year-old driver and his 19-year-old passenger inside. During the search, more than 70 wraps of white powder were discovered on both individuals, which police suspect to be cocaine, two wraps of powder suspected to be heroin, and a wrap of cannabis, according to 24ur.
In addition to banned substances, investigators seized several tablets believed to contain steroids, approximately 5,000 euros in cash, and several mobile phones. The operation did not stop at the vehicle—police subsequently carried out house searches at the addresses of both suspects, where they found several hundred euros in cash.
Both will be reported to the competent prosecutor's office on suspicion of the criminal offence of unauthorised production and trafficking in banned drugs. Information gathering is still ongoing.

In a separate procedure, police brought in a 30-year-old Algerian national at the security-sensitive area of Metelkova. According to police reports, he handed over an aluminium wrap with approximately one gram of white powder, suspected to be cocaine, to a citizen in exchange for payment.
During the procedure, the suspect voluntarily handed over another wrap of white powder to police. Police brought him before an investigating judge, who ordered his detention. Proceedings are also ongoing against him on suspicion of the criminal offence of unauthorised production and trafficking in banned drugs.
