Celje Police Authority has received a report in recent days from a female citizen who was contacted multiple times by an unknown woman by telephone. The scammer allegedly posed on behalf of an unknown diagnostic centre for heart and vascular diseases and attempted to extract personal information and her home address from her. The caller also insisted on visiting her home and conducting health examinations.
According to the assessment of Celje police officers, this is a clear case of false representation, with which the perpetrator wanted to gain the victim's trust and meet her in her flat. Such conduct is allegedly intended to prepare or carry out criminal offences.
Police therefore advise citizens to be careful to whom they entrust their personal information and addresses. They also warn them to think carefully about who they let into their homes.
