Google News SI — Crime (sl) reports that on Friday, 21 August, an evening brawl on Belokranjska Street in Novo mesto alarmed numerous residents. Police were notified of the incident shortly after 19.30.
The Operations and Communications Centre immediately sent police officers to the scene, who established public order and peace and determined the identities of those involved. Novo Mesto Police Directorate reported that the participants know each other and are in a dispute with one another.
According to initial findings, a 34-year-old man was staying on the terrace of a hospitality establishment. When an 18-year-old and 42-year-old suspect, with whom he was in dispute, arrived, he fled into the interior of the petrol station and hid behind the sales counter.
The suspects followed him and attacked him with sticks. During the attack, the interior of the petrol station was also damaged.
All participants in the brawl sustained minor injuries, which were treated by rescue personnel at the scene. The worker at the petrol station also sustained minor injuries but did not require medical assistance.
Police are continuing the investigation into all circumstances and are investigating the criminal offences of assault and causing minor bodily harm. Based on the information gathered, police will take action against the suspects in accordance with their competencies, said Novo Mesto Police Directorate.
